Also joining Jane and Thor in the epic quest against the God Butcher-that name will never get old-is Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson). Though they’re not really in this new look, the Guardians of the Galaxy will be back, at least for a bit. Thor and ex-gf Jane are going to have to get those sparks flying into something of a greater electrical power if they want to make it out of this one alive.Īs with most Marvel movies, a number of familiar faces rear their heads in the trailer. Which has become a problem, as Bale’s “Gorr the God Butcher” has entered the arena to murder every divinity he can get his hands on: “All gods will die,” he proclaims, for good measure. We’ve glazed over the return of Waititi’s lovable Korg, the introduction of Christian Bale’s Voldemort-looking villain, and, the greatest gift of all, Jane, a.k.a.

Thor: Love And Thunder, starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Taika Waititi, and Russell Crowe, is set to come out in just a few months, arriving in the middle of summer on July 8, 2022. Plot context would suggest the possibility that Thor is traveling to see Zeus in order to tell him about Gorr and his villainous plans to rid reality of gods, so why is it that the Strongest Avenger once again finds himself chained up? In Thor, he is put in custody by S.H.I.E.L.D. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the God of Thunder has a repeating detainment problem. If I’m being an optimist, it’s possible that the Greek God gave it to her as a means of helping in the stopping of Gorr, but I actually think it’s much more likely that this detail suggests some very bad and sad things for Zeus in the Marvel movie. Jane Foster), and Korg in the battle against Gorr – and to boot, she is fighting with an exciting new weapon. She is going to be prominently featured joining Thor, Mighty Thor (a.k.a. As demonstrated in the footage from the new trailer, however, her political responsibilities are not going to stop her from getting involved in battles across the universe. In Thor: Love and Thunder, audiences will get the opportunity to catch up with Valkyrie for the first time since she took on the responsibility of being King of Asgard in Avengers: Endgame.
